Fine Linen is a precious fiber that is Mediterranean by history and European by tradition. It is the oldest plant fibre of mankind, dating back 36,000.

 

Ancient Egyptians endowed the cloth with symbolic significance as a representation of purity and called it ‘woven moonlight’. Egyptians were obsessed with hygiene and fine linen with its antibacterial qualities was a symbol of ‘purity’ and ‘light and reserved for people with high social standing. The garment was so valued that is was even used as a currency.

 

The Ancient Greeks used fine linen's versatility for beautiful drapings. The crinkled look was very fashionable, and the fabric with its elegance and simplicity the most popular choice.
